Welcome to Taj, home of traditional and exquisite Indian food in Dothan, AL. Our story begins with founder Ritesh Mohan, who dreamed of creating a successful restaurant that integrated royal Indian menus dating back 300 to 400 years using the freshest local ingredients.

Ritesh began his journey by moving to the United States from India in 2001. He began his first business venture by opening Taj Café & BBQ in 2010, which became the first business to introduce Indian food to Dothan, AL. Ritesh knew that opening an Indian restaurant in Alabama would have its challenges, so he incorporated BBQ into his restaurant to make people feel more at home.
