Welcome to Taj, home of traditional and exquisite Indian food in Dothan, AL. Our story begins with founder Ritesh Mohan, who had a simple dream of creating a successful restaurant that integrated royal Indian menus dating back 300 to 400 years using the freshest local ingredients.

Ritesh began his journey by moving to the United States in 2001 from India. He began his first business venture by opening Taj Café & BBQ in 2010, and became the first business to introduce Indian food to Dothan, AL. Ritesh knew that opening an Indian restaurant in Alabama would have its challenges, and so he incorporated BBQ into his restaurant to make people feel more at home.
